What is Best?

They went on from there and passed through Galilee. And he did not want anyone to know, for he was teaching his disciples, saying to them, “The Son of Man is going to be delivered into the hands of men, and they will kill him. And when he is killed, after three days he will rise.”
1 Corinthians 14:40 (ESV)
But all things should be done decently and in order.
Scripture is inspired by God and He will never contradict Himself. When we are inconsistent, He is Consistent. Jesus did things decently and in good order. Do I? Jesus wanted to teach His disciples without distraction (verse 30: “he did not want anyone to know”). He sought seclusion in order to prepare them for His death. Jesus is always thinking what is best. Sometimes we get too caught up in our circumstances rather than taking a step back to see what is best. Jesus had a perspective that was based on His Father’s Kingdom not on things below:
2 Timothy 2:4 (ESV)
No soldier gets entangled in civilian pursuits, since his aim is to please the one who enlisted him.
Colossians 3:2 (ESV)
Set your minds on things that are above, not on things that are on earth.
Take a minute to ask God, “Lord, what are you saying? How should I handle this?” God wants to speak to us and show us His ways. He calls for a personal relationship but has already planned for your moments. Get on board with His plans and let Him give you wisdom. Peace will follow.
James 1:5 (ESV)
If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.
Isaiah 32:17 (ESV)
And the effect of righteousness will be peace, and the result of righteousness, quietness and trust forever.
Lord help me understand what you are willing today. Help me know how to respond to You and what it is that You are doing. Thank you Lord, Amen.
